unnamed-24.jpg

UAE luxury yacht manufacturer, Gulf Craft, has delivered its seventh Majesty 100 superyacht.

Jonacor Marine, Drettmann International’s Russian and Ukrainian Dealer for Gulf Craft, sold the superyacht to a Russian owner with a love of yachting. The owner has named her M/Y Piterland II.

The new superyacht is currently being shipped to Gibraltar, where the owner will offload it and travel onboard through Europe before berthing in East Europe.

Since its launch at the 2017 Dubai International Boat Show, six models of the Majesty 100 have been sold worldwide. The latest order is hull number seven of Gulf Craft’s first sky-lounge superyacht. The homegrown company has delivered several of the models to Europe and Australia.

Gaining worldwide attention since it was launched, the Majesty 100, which is 31.7m in size, is characterized by her powerful but efficient propulsion system. The owners, who are experienced boaters, have chosen the model for its reliability, comfort and unparalleled space and sea keeping capabilities.

The yacht’s standard features include folding balconies on both sides, floor-to-ceiling glazing in the main deck saloon and a sky-lounge on the upper deck, which will allow the owners to use the yacht in almost any climate and enjoy unparalleled open views of the sea. The interior includes five staterooms, with the owner’s situated in the main deck and four rooms in the lower deck.

The model has been completed using timeless exterior styling and exquisite workmanship. The lavish superyacht has been personalised according to the owner’s preference. The interior of the main veneer features quilted semi-gloss stain while the accent and furniture veneer is ebony semi-gloss. Crema Marfil, Dark Emperador and Cappuccino Oryx marble has been used across the interior.

Power will come from 1,900hp twin MAN engines propelling her to a top speed of 20 knots. When trimmed back to an economical speed of 12 knots, the superyacht will cover a cruising range of 1,500 nautical miles.

Gulf Craft currently has three Majesty 100s under construction, with delivery dates that extend up to 2021.

BENETTI DELIVERS M/Y “METIS”

unnamed-24

M/Y Metis, a custom 63-meter yacht with steel hull and aluminium superstructure, was delivered to her German owner and long-lasting customer of Yacht Moments, introduced to the shipyard by Kurt Lehmann. Carbon, polished steel and bleached oak embellished with leather inserts are the main materials chosen for this yacht.

The interiors, designed by UK studio Bannenberg & Rowell, who worked in partnership with the Birgit Otte Interior Atelier, are designed in a modern style. The exteriors are the work of Giorgio M. Cassetta.

The custom gym on the Fly Deck, the touch and gohelipad and the over 160 sq. m owner’s apartment with two double beds and an outdoor terrace all contribute to make Metis a unique Benetti model.

Metishas been delivered to its owner in Livorno. She is a 63-meter long custom yacht with a very elaborated interior design. In his role as consultant to the owner, Kurt Lehmann of Yacht Moments has been in charge of the project management and praised Benetti for the great work that had characterized the entire Metis design and construction period: Benetti confirmed once again its name as icon of timeless Italian style and excellence in megayacht construction. The highly skilled Benetti’s technicians and engineers and the artisans who worked for the shipyard have created an amazing yacht. The dedication of everyone in communicating and exchanging views with the captain and owner was remarkable.” Yacht Moments have also been responsibly involved in the conception and development of this stylish custom superyacht project – always taking care of the completion of the owner’s ideas, demands and inspirations. Notably the additional upper gym-deck has been developed by Yacht Moments and perfectly realized by Benetti and Giorgio M. Cassetta.

The exteriors are the result of the collaboration between Benetti and Giorgio M. Cassetta who, through a painstaking design, sought to maximise the dynamic proportions of a yacht that has an impressing long bow with vertical straight edge. Metis is a modern and timeless yacht, which displays large volumes behind flowing lines and innovative features, such as the private deck. The design is simple, yet characteristic of Benetti, said the Italian designer.

The interiors are the result of the collaboration between German studio Birgit Otte Interior, based in Wolfersdorf, and Bannenberg & Rowell, an English studio directed by Dickie Bannenberg and Simon Rowell. The London-based duo, famous for devising creative solutions based on bold shapes and geometric motifs, with an eye-catching design and a fine finish, were given a great deal of leeway in the design. Dickie Bannenberg, who is thrilled with this project, commented: “Metis‘ unique layout has freed us from what I call ‘the tyranny of alignment’, allowing us to unlock new corners and views of asymmetric designs. This approach in particular is reflected in the beach club, where the rooms are rotated by about 30° compared to traditional layouts and offer a new view over the sea through the transom and the side doors.

The novelty of this particular rotation also characterizes the main salon and the upper deck salon, challenging conventional expectations and perceptions.

The originality of Metisis also evident in the full-beam owner’s suite, which features a lounge and offers a breathtaking 180-degree view thanks to the full-height glazed surfaces on the private bow deck. The design of this room is based on a contemporary range of wood finishes using smoked oak, carbon and polished steel combined with calacatta and coffee brown marbles. The bold, geometric shapes can be found in the stainless steel bed frames, furniture and finishes. A private lounge is also available in the babysitting cabin, which has a terrace overlooking the sea.

BENETTI BRINGS THE FIRST PHASE OF ITS GIGA SEASON TO A HAPPY END WITH THE LAUNCH OF 108-METER FB275

WebRes_Benetti Giga Yacht FB275 (2).jpg

In the Group’s fiftieth anniversary year, Benetti, icon of style and elegance in the history of luxury yachting, wins another challenge and launches three giga yachts in just 100 days.

After the two launches on December 18 and February 5, the 108-meter FB275 now hits the water and brings to an end a busy and productive season, during which Benetti was fully focused on an exceptional endeavour: building 3 yachts over 100 meters in parallel and launching them in the space of just 100 days.

This remarkable achievement was made possible by an ambitious business plan involving major financial investments (in infrastructure, organisation, not to mention workers and shipyard safety). The expansion of Benetti’s Livorno shipyard in particular, with the construction of two latest generation industrial sheds (at a cost of over €18 million), significantly increased the Company’s production capacity.

This challenging project has been used by the shipyard to fine tune its production processes still further, guaranteeing the highest standards of quality and reliability in all phases of construction: from design, to engineering and finally delivery.

The launch of the three giga yachts is an achievement that upholds to perfection the tradition forged by Benetti brand, in a history of successful challenges built on the insight of the founders, starting from the early ‘900 transition from building cargo ships to focusing on pleasure craft.

After the second world war, Benetti began series production of steel explorers, that can be regarded as the first true yachts ever built, becoming the go-to shipyard for crowned heads and successful businessmen. And then there was the Nabila, the largest and most sophisticated yacht of its time, as well as the launch of the Classic line, which for the first time concentrated all the features found on much bigger yachts in just 36 meters. This was followed by the acquisition of the storied Cantiere Orlando to increase production capacity and the construction of the Ambrosia in 2005, the first diesel-electric yacht, which brings us to this last decade and the signing, in a particularly complicated period for the industry, of 4 contracts to build giga yachts, one already delivered and three launched in the space of 100 days, including the world’s biggest hybrid over 5500 GT.

This remarkable achievement extends the Azimut|Benetti offering still further and the Group is now the only shipbuilder in Italy, and one of very few worldwide, to offer a product range that spans from the smallest 12-meter Atlantis to yachts over 100 meters long built by Benetti. The breadth of the offering and the complementary nature of the two brands, Benetti and Azimut, represent formidable assets and the owners have no intention of changing this.

There could have been no better way for Azimut|Benetti to kick off its 50th anniversary year, a milestone reached by the Group after confirming its position, for the nineteenth time, as the world’s leading builder of mega yachts and reporting brilliant results for fiscal 2017/18 (with value of production standing at €850 million and Adjusted EBITDA at €55 million). This success is

confirmed by excellent performance reported by the other Group companies: Fraser Yachts, Lusben, Yachtique and the Marinas, a segment in which construction work is advancing rapidly on the tourist port in Malta.

Looking ahead, and specifically at Benetti, for 2018/19 the Company forecasts a 75% year-on-year increase in units under construction (from 12 to 21). In fact, planned production for the coming 12 months, including both the Viareggio and Livorno shipyards, totals 32 yachts from 29 to 100+ meters in length. Of these, a full 17 are planned for delivery in 2018/19.

The product range is concurrently being extended, with 3 fiberglass yachts under development and 4 new B.NOW models from 50 to 68 meters also at an advanced stage of design. Production work on the first one will start in May 2018.

Expertly Crafted – Predator 74

By Shereen Shabnam

Sporty and sleek, Sunseeker’s largest Predator model is back with a 40-knot capability and crafted to perfectly balance style with practicality. The new Sunseeker Predator 74 epitomizes the latest Sunseeker design cues and sets new standards and benchmarks for yachting enthusiasts.

The exterior of the Sunseeker Predator 74 boasts sleek, yet oversized windows down to the side deck, which floods the interior with light and provides uninterrupted views from the saloon.

Central to its appeal, the cleverly engineered cockpit door mechanism allows it to open conventionally, but also lowers itself into the sole of the yacht. Depending on the owner’s wishes, the Predator 74 can be transformed into an ‘open’ yacht in warmer regions or a ‘closed’ yacht in cooler climates.

Relaxation areas are often the primary focus for yacht lovers and the generous saloon in the Sunseeker Predator 74 includes a sumptuous seating area, ample storage and comprehensive port side bar console; all below an extraordinary glass sliding roof.

Below deck from the saloon, there is a generous galley and three spacious en-suite cabins, comprising an aft master, starboard twin and forward VIP. The master cabin benefits from an optional walk-in wardrobe or office area.

The below deck offers complete flexibility for owners with an option to have an extended galley arrangement complete with lounge and breakfast bar seating or an additional twin guest cabin which would allow the yacht to accommodate up to eight guests in a four cabin arrangement.

The vast foredeck features a superb sunbed for soaking up the rays complete with optional pram hood canopy. Behind the Predator 74 transom, directly below the vast sunpad, the tender garage provides the space to house a new Williams 390 jet tender or Jet Ski with a hydraulic bathing platform to make launching effortless.

The transom area features an optional ‘Beach Club’ with parasol which is a Sunseeker signature feature. This area offers an inviting space for family and friends to enjoy the built-in BBQ, overhead ‘rain shower’ and fold-down transom seating.

Piercing through the waves, this yacht is powered by MAN V12 1550 horsepower engines, which give an impressive top speed of up to 35 knots. Alternatively, for the thrill seekers, the performance engine option with the MAN V12 1900 engines offers a breathtaking top speed of up to 40 knots..

From the dynamic Sport Yacht models, through its luxurious Manhattan range, iconic Predator models and its majestic Yachts range, each Sunseeker is the result of an uncompromising approach to innovative design and engineering excellence. The brand’s spirit of excellence has hence driven Sunseeker to a prominent position in the leisure marine industry.

MARQUIS YACHTS, LLC, ANNOUNCES NEW STRATEGIC VISION

unnamed-23.jpg
As part of the recent sale of its Larson Boat assets to Polaris Industries, the Pulaski, Wisconsin builder of Marquis, Carver and Lexus Yachts has announced a strategic reorganization. Under the guidance of President and CEO, Rob Parmentier, the company will now concentrate exclusively in the luxury yacht segment through its continued expansion of the Carver Yachts brand and relaunch of its Marquis brand with a new line of sport yachts. In addition, the company will continue its partnership with Lexus, the luxury automaker and will introduce its first production Lexus Luxury Yacht in the fall of 2019.
“Based upon years of successfully building European styled boats, and our recent partnership with Lexus Yachts, our company is in an excellent position to capitalize on the growing world-wide market for luxury sport yachts,” Parmentier said.
Parmentier went on to say that since the company is no longer in the small boat business, Marquis Yachts LLC will now be able to concentrate the efforts of all its skilled employees and resources to these three brands which best fit the evolving global marine market.  The expected result is increased market share and profitability, he said.
As a consequence of its strategic realignment, a new Marquis 42 will be introduced at the 2019 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) to be followed by 50 and 60-foot models currently in the planning stage.
In conjunction with Nuvolari-Lenard, more than 20-years ago Marquis Yachts was one of the first boats, if not the first, to use European designs and look from an American boat manufacturer.  Once again, Marquis will introduce a new line of boats taking shape right now to be the first American builder to design, engineer and build an upscale, assertive and stylish “day boat” with striking lines and shape.  As announced in July, these new day boats will relaunch the Marquis brand.
Set to be introduced at FLIBS is the new 65-foot Lexus flybridge.  The Lexus is built in Marquis’ Pulaski facility with distribution to be handled through select Marquis and Carver Yachts dealers.  A coupe version will follow a few months after the launch of the LY650.
A new 46 Carver Command Bridge is on the drawing board scheduled to appear in early 2020.  This new Carver design will set the stage and direction for the Carver models to follow.
“This aggressive expansion of new models and the redefining of existing brands, is now possible because of this important strategic refocus of who we are and what we do,” Parmentier said. “Marquis Yachts LLC will continue to be a significant marine industry player as we go forward.”

New Pershing 8X: The Carbon Fibre Revolution

PERSHING 8X.jpg

The masterpiece of the “X Generation” debuts at BOOT Düsseldorf 2019

Pershing continues to accelerate on the course of innovation and contemporary aesthetics.

Like its predecessor 9X, the new 8X is made of the same material that the most advanced nautical dreams are made of: carbon fibre. This material not only means lighter weight, greater speed, and lower fuel consumption, but also more volume due to the ability to design larger, more comfortable spaces.

The on-board comfort is extraordinary, thanks to the many benefits offered by the new system that integrates propulsion control with the manoeuvring, navigation, and monitoring systems. With the new 8X, “piloting” a Pershing, even at high speeds and without the support of the captain, is fun and accessible.

25.55 meters in length (approx. 83’) and 5.86 meters wide (approx. 19’), Pershing 8X stems from the collaboration between yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee, headed by Mr. Piero Ferrari, and the Group’s Engineering Department. Pershing 8X expands the current range of the brand, as it is situated in the under 30-meter market segment as an innovative product that represents a true evolution in terms of stylistic-functional aspects and performance.

Made of carbon fibre, this new model features lines that are even sleeker and sportier, enhanced by characteristic Pershing elements like imposing side wings and the aerodynamic profile of the sundeck. The result is a yacht in the sport-fly range with an unrivalled combination of quality and innovation.
