CUSTOM LINE NAVETTA 30: WELCOME TO A NEW DIMENSION IN DESIGN

The eagerly awaited Custom Line Navetta 30 is the first yacht with an interior design scheme by the prestigious Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel architecture firm and exterior design by Filippo Salvetti.

There are some significant new technical and design features, involving unprecedented solutions for the brand.

A fresh chapter is about to begin in the Custom Line world: the new Navetta 30 yacht in the displacement line will be appearing at the first autumn boat shows for the season 2020- 2021. The future of the Navetta range has been outlined by the new super yacht thanks to an in-depth design process that took the seaworthiness, comfort, safety and customisation for which Custom Line has always been renowned and transferred them into a product that is even more ground-breaking, especially in terms of its style and interior design.

With a length of 28.43 m (93 ft) and a beam of 7.3 m (24 ft), it is a product of the partnership between the Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee, headed by engineer Piero Ferrari, and its Engineering Department. The Navetta 30 is also the first Custom Line vessel to boast a combination of exterior design by architect Filippo Salvetti and interior design by architecture firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.

“The new Navetta 30 takes us into a new dimension in design”, explains Stefano de Vivo, the Ferretti Group’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Due to the huge success enjoyed by the new Navetta generation, we want every new project to have the sensational verve of a masterpiece. The Navetta 30 meets this requirement and takes a stunning step forward in the quest to offer Owners and their guests incomparable well-being”.

The classic, perfectly poised profile of the yacht places the emphasis on the way the lines stretch out horizontally, highlighting this aspect of the design so that the vertical connections between the decks almost go unnoticed.

In addition, for the first time the drop from the superstructure on the upper deck has been shortened near the glazed window of the Owner’s cabin, giving the yacht a more streamlined shape that is even racier and sportier. And that is not all: one of the most striking aspects of the new yacht is a gap between the hull and the superstructure, which has been created by raising the joints with the upper deck to form two clearly separate parts.

“The Custom Line displacement range has been expanded by the addition of the new Navetta 30, which blends generous volumes with an attractive, graceful design whose classic charms never grow old. It might have the capabilities of a ship, but it is full of harmoniously balanced visual appeal. It was essential to find the right balance between the hull and the superstructure and emphasise the way the external lines stretch out horizontally in order to add a little vivacious verve to this distinctive, complex creation”, states architect Filippo Salvetti.

The exterior design features large glazed windows in the hull and superstructure, with deck heights of more than 2 m and very spacious areas forward and aft. With finishes and furniture that match those insides, the outdoor spaces can be used not only for dining but also for relaxing and reflecting, thus providing unrivalled potential for people to get a little privacy and enjoy life on board. Great prominence has been given to the connections between inside and outside areas. The former has been opened up to the exterior as much as possible to offer broader, more panoramic views reaching out over the sea to the horizon.

This project breaks new ground in many significant ways, starting with the incredible volumes: its three decks are unprecedented for a yacht of this length. The 100% wide body configuration means that Owners and their guests have a full beam Owner’s suite and lounge on the main deck at their disposal, in addition to four VIP cabins and a crew area on the lower deck. There is a dining area and lounge on the upper deck, which provides access to the integrated bridge that is located further forward. The exceptionally large sun deck rounds off a line-up that is second to none.

To lay the foundations for it all, a brand-new hull has been created, with lines on the bottom that extend it forward. It is designed not only to host very large spaces but also to offer superb performance and minimize consumption.

The innovative interior design scheme was developed in partnership with Citterio Viel. The firm has given traditional maritime style – from the concept to the colour palette – a contemporary twist. The classic design of the curved lines on the furniture and window frames presents a modern outlook on nautical traditions, as does the use of teak. Its timeless allure is complemented by the vibrant “sporty chic” of carbon detailing, surfaces with quartz fibre combined with fibre glass to create customised textures, sophisticated lacquer and fabrics with ultramarine blue stripes.

“The interior design was developed in partnership with the engineers and architects who designed the hull of the yacht”, states Patricia Viel, co-founder of the Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel architecture firm. “BIM enables us to control every single volume perfectly, thus ensuring that the lighting and interior design schemes fit in flawlessly around the shape of the hull”.

The decision was made to reject a more residential outlook and avoid a clear distinction between the yacht itself and the items on board. Built-in furniture was specially designed and made using natural leather, solid wood and plywood, with some exquisite craftsmanship on display. The firm proposed furnishing solutions that were created exclusively for this yacht and two aesthetic approaches: a “textured mood” that was fresher and more youthful, and a less elaborate, more classical “wooden mood” in which wood was the predominant material.

Moving on from the materials and finishes, the interiors of the Navetta 30 – which is the smallest displacement yacht in the Custom Line range – were designed with a big focus on the use of space, in order to make the most of all of the volumes and all of the surface area that was available.

The Custom Line Navetta 30 is ideal for travelling long distances with low fuel consumption and performance at the top of its class. It comes with twin MAN I6 800 mhp engines as standard. They give it a top speed of 14 knots and a transatlantic range of 2,150 nautical miles at a fuel-efficient cruising speed of 10 knots. Two other twin engine options are available:

• Twin MAN V8 1000 mhp engines, as fitted on the first unit;

• Twin MAN V8 1200 mhp engines.

To give maximum comfort at anchor, the Navetta 30 is equipped with stabilising fins, which can be fitted in conjunction with Seakeeper systems on request.

Comfort and safety are top priorities for Custom Line, as underlined by the fact that the yacht falls within CE Class A and has volumes that have never been seen before in this segment of the market. This is thanks in part to unparalleled soundproofing based on targeted mathematical analysis of each and every source of noise on board, and the installation of a floating floor to reduce the transmission of sound from the engine room to the living areas, while also softening the sound of footsteps.

The Navetta 30 is under construction in the Super Yacht Yard in Ancona and it is due to make its official debut at the next Cannes Yachting Festival.

BENETTI LAUNCHES 70-METER CUSTOM SUPERYACHT FB273

The Benetti shipyard in Livorno has launched FB273, the elegant 70-meter custom yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. The exterior design was developed entirely by Benetti, working in close collaboration with the Owner, while the interiors are by Laura Pomponi and her Team. The yacht extends across six decks and has a futuristic stern area featuring two side doors and a variable geometry swimming pool, a vertical bow with a “touch and go” helicopter landing area and a Jacuzzi on the Sky Deck.

Yesterday Benetti, in a festive atmosphere at its Livorno shipyard, launched 70-meter superyacht FB273, a symbol of the excellence on which Benetti has always prided itself. Built for an expert Owner, the yacht has a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, six decks and a highly distinctive design that enhances both functionality and performance. The elegant lines of the exteriors are the work of Benetti’s in-house designers, while the interiors are the work of Laura Pomponi and her design Team. Construction work was supervised on behalf of the Owner by Bureau Veritas Solutions M&O.

Perhaps, the most striking of the many unusual features of this superyacht is the stern area which has a variable geometry swimming pool with a special system that varies the depth for use by both adults and kids, installed on a Benetti yacht for the very first time. The bottom of the pool becomes an integral part of the Main Deck when fully raised and the Beach Club opens out with two side terraces over the water.

The indoor and outdoor spaces on the Main Deck are very generously spaced and feature big sunbathing areas. Moving forward from the stern, a light-filled living area with full-height glazed surfaces, furnished with sofas and armchairs, is followed by a dining room with a balcony on the starboard side that amplifies the sensation of contact with the sea and eliminates the boundary between interior and exterior.

On the Lower Deck, guests are accommodated amidships in 6 double cabins. The crew quarters are in the bow area.

The Upper Deck is dedicated entirely to the owner, with access both from outdoors and up the impressive interior stairway. In the bow, the private cabin occupies over 120 sqm and has a 180-degree view of the horizon, offering a bathroom with shower and sauna, a walk-in his and hers wardrobe, and a big, bright night area where the bed is flanked by the vanity table and breakfast corner. There is also a private lounge with loose furniture that looks out over the yacht’s majestic bow, reserved for the Owner’s exclusive use, and a touch and go helicopter landing area at the tip of the bow.

On the same deck as the Owner’s suite, moving forward from the stern, are an outdoor lounge area with sofas and a sunbathing area, the interior lounge area, and a living space with a home theatre system. The office has a big monolithic glass wall that looks out over the interiors and is connected to the big lobby with a private balcony. On the left side is the gym, complete with a massage room.

The Sun Deck features a big en plein airdining area connected to an interior veranda through a sliding door. Forward, the captain’s cabin is next to the bridge.

The top Sky Deck is completely open, with a Jacuzzi, sunpad and loungers offering a prime vantage point to enjoy the sea view.

FB273 is fitted with two 2,400 hp Caterpillar engines that drive the yacht to a top speed of 17 knots and give it a range of 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.

The Power Catamaran

The new 80 Sunreef Power

Shereen Shabnam

Sunreef Yachts has just introduced the new 80 Sunreef Power, a universal multihull yacht for long cruises in ultimate comfort. Taking luxury and seaworthiness to a new dimension, this dynamic and elegant craft enters the Sunreef Yachts range, redefining the authentic power catamaran design.

So what are the unique features of 80 Sunreef Power? What stands out is the yacht’s dynamic hull and superstructure that stretch the living spaces to the extreme, offering infinite options for a bespoke layout and décor.

Yacht enthusiasts looking for a contemporary design are in for a treat as with a bold, contemporary hull styling, the 80 Sunreef Power incorporates classic stainless steel portlights, teak sole decks, high bulwarks and subtle ambience lighting.

The new 80 Sunreef Power would also attract water sports enthusiasts who need space to keep their toys such as jet skis to keep them entertained while out at sea. Her massive garage combined with an aft platform allows the 80 Sunreef Power to take her dinghy and numerous water toys anywhere she goes.

Easily accessed from the saloon, the yacht’s full-beam bow terrace is a vast, soothing retreat with amazing amounts of space for sunning and lounging. The 80 Sunreef Power’s immense flybridge offers enough breadth to house a spa pool, a wet bar and generous seating all around.

Other noteworthy spectacular features on board the 80 Sunreef Power is the master suite which can be set up in the bow section of the main deck. With a double bed facing the bow terrace, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, dressing and desk, the suite is bathed in sun from the skylight glazing. The same space can also be used to install a large lounge with ample seating and access to the foredeck.

The yacht’s main saloon opens wide onto the ample aft cockpit to combine the yacht’s interior dining space with the outdoor relaxation areas, where more seating is available along with a wet bar.

Most yacht aficionados prefer their own bespoke design and the fully customizable saloon can accommodate a large galley, depending on the layout selected and houses an elevated interior navigation station. The immense volumes in the hulls of the 80 Sunreef Power give plenty of room to tailor every unit’s layout to the most specific requirements.

The crew quarters along with the galley and crew mess can be accessed directly from the aft cockpit for more privacy on board. Multiple layout configurations are available to set up luxurious guest cabins for a supreme level of comfort on board.

There will be two premières: Riva Dolceriva, making its debut on the German market, and a world première, a Pershing Generation X model in the 50-to-70 feet segment.

BOOT, to be held from 18th to 26th January, is the ideal stage for presenting a preview of the latest news and flagship products of the new nautical season, thanks to the significant numbers: over 1,800 exhibitors, 900 of which from more than 60 countries.

The crowds flocked to the magnificent stand (Halle 6, stand D28) thanks to the innovative concept featuring original and welcoming lounges, each dedicated to one of the Group’s brands, and a very spacious VIP area complete with cocktail bar.

The two premières will be accompanied by a number of the Group’s hugely successful models:

  • • 48’ Wallytender

As always, the new projects will be presented during the inaugural press conference, featuring those from Riva, Pershing, and Ferretti Yachts, in addition to the ones already announced in the last few months, like the long-awaited TØ project. Pershing’s new range redefines the boundaries of the 25-to-40-metres market segment, revolutionising the concept of sports yachting and setting game-changing standards of yachting pleasure, with strong points like high technology, unrivalled performance, and the unique style created by Fulvio De Simoni. FERRETTI GROUP PREMIÈRES AT BOOT 2020 IN DÜSSELDORF:

RIVA DOLCERIVA

Born of the collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the firm headed by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta that has designed the entire Riva fleet for over 25 years, and the Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department and Product Strategy Committee, Dolceriva is 14.92 metres (48 ft) long with a full beam of 4.26 metres (14 ft).

The latest spellbinding creation by Riva is a 48’ open yacht designed to offer unrivalled on-board comfort. The objective is to challenge the market segment with a series of unprecedented features: a brand new exterior design developed by Officina Italiana Design, which ushers in a new style philosophy for all Riva models; a perfectly optimised use of all the on-board spaces; and an exciting array of details that pays homage to the brand’s incomparable heritage.

PERSHING PREMIÈRE

Resulting from the collaboration between the Fulvio De Simoni’s design studio, the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee, led by engineer Piero Ferrari, and the Group’s Engineering Department, the new star of Generation X expands the Brand’s current range, entering the over 20 metres market segment with a competitive product that embodies a genuine evolution from the point of view of style and functionality as well as performance.

Carbon fibre, the primary construction material, was the inspiration for the concept of a design focused on greater weight reduction, also by means of various construction solutions. The design of the sleek, sporty exterior adds considerable aesthetic innovation to the quintessential Pershing style. In addition, the first unit introduces a new colour for the hull and superstructure. The storage areas and space have been increased, without any compromises in terms of performance or the inclusion of high-tech features. This Pershing will easily attain a top speed of 50 knots (preliminary data), in absolute comfort and complete safety, a testament to the sporting vocation of Generation X.

BadGal Redefines Glamour

Aggressive and sporty look with luxury-oriented interiors

At first sight, BadGal exterior and interior striking design are evidently refined, elegant and with innovative features that makes this yacht eye-catching. It is the successful result of a team project of five different diverse designers and has all the elements that make a yacht stand out at any marina.

The yacht owner, a female music producer from the Netherlands, commissioned her boat to be as fast as possible in the range of 40 metres LOA. Hence the team opted for a planing hull, which permitted the two MTU 12V 4000CM93L engines to push the yacht to the astounding top speed of 29 knots.

To have more space in the lower deck, the team chose a v-drive transmission configuration, reducing the engine room area. The decision to go for a planing hull may seem in contrast with the latest trend of building the majority of yachts capable to get on long range journeys at the desired cruise speed, but focus was on design being the most important unique feature and all else revolved around that.

The exterior profile view shows two amazing and huge black windows with a contour line that connects the upper to the lower one, creating a fake intake similar to a side pod of a car, with a high sheer line, running all the way from bow to stern, that helps to define the powerful attitude.

Moreover, the glass dome-shaped upper deck adds to the incredible sleek exteriors of this yacht and the sporty look is emphasised by keeping an ordinary bow shape, giving the vessel a feel for speed.

The yacht features three decks in her interiors to accommodate her owner in the huge master’s cabin, located in the main deck, plus 8 people in 4 cabins in the lower deck, each with a private bathroom. She can also house 6 crew members in 3 crew cabins with bunk beds in the lower deck and the captain’s cabin in the upper deck.

The guests’ cabins are located in the lower deck, as well as the crew cabins, but are kept separated by a watertight bulkhead, as to avoid mixing the crew and guests flow. Inside the crew spaces, there are also 2 bathrooms and a galley, where crew members are able to live.

The main deck layout is designed to be extremely wide and spacious, starting with the huge master’s cabin at the bow. Going aft towards the stern, a big dining area, close to the pantry, finds its space between the master’s cabin and the living area, completed by an open bar.

Upstairs, exposed to the living area, the upper deck can be reached, where the owner’s music studio is housed, as well as the captain’s cabin and the wheelhouse. The outside spaces are wide and luxurious, too. The upper deck features, at the bow, a Jacuzzi pool with sittings all around it, meanwhile at the stern, the music studio opens to a terrace balcony, which features comfortable lounge sittings.

Atender garage has been developed in the lower deck, with a hydraulic opening hatch, where sea accessories are stored, such as jet ski and an interesting tender, whose design matches the exterior lines of the motor yacht, featuring a lifting roll-bar as to be stored inside the garage.

The stylish interiors focus the attention on the research for details and luxurious materials, like silk tissues for curtains, linings and bedsheets, mahogany wood for desks, nightstands and tables and marble for kitchen counter and bathrooms.

Large windows make the interiors glow thanks to the chosen combination of colours, soft and warm natural wood hues arranged with shades of beige and light grey and create a positive atmosphere for the owner and the guests living and sharing moments.

The furniture is selected carefully to match the interior choices and displays the complexity of a taste almost definable as baroque. The use of led spot lights helps the cabins to reach a cosy sensation, but also enhances the feeling of having large windows, making the space looking more spacious and brighter.

Overall, BadGirl is not just pleasing to the eye but is practical and a mariners delight that stands out on water for its mysteriousness and unique design

EVO R6 revealed in Cannes

Evo R6 render.png

Europe’s most important Boat Show is the ideal location for EVO YACHTS to reveal Evo R6. This surprising and innovative walk around, almost 18 meters in length, will be given its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 10 to 15. The highly appealing new flagship designed by Valerio Rivellini retains the extending side walls that have brought the shipyard fame and amazes with clean lines, plenty of space and, most importantly, the incredible flexibility of the interior and exterior spaces.

The experience of EVO Yachts and the design flair of Valerio Rivellini come together to create Evo R6: a 18 meters yacht that opens up new horizons in the yachting world and puts the shipyard back into the spotlight.Maximum  flexibility of interpretation and use are two essential features of the new yacht from Evo.
The Neapolitan shipyard, which has gained a reputation right from the outset for models that stand out for their “convertibility”, advanced technology and appealing design, launches its innovative flagship (17.71 meters long, compared with the 13 meters of the previous 43) created under the banner of functional design. The clean aesthetic of the exteriors, featuring a vertical bow, high side walls and impeccably elegant finishings, is matched by spacious interiors.

The result achieved is the perfect balance between exteriors typically found on a walk around, so that the outdoor life can be enjoyed to the full all day, and interiors worthy of a cabin cruiser, with spaces that are roomy, comfortable, simple and refined. In this design too, a key role is played by settings that are remarkably versatile, with extending side walls that almost double the area available in the cockpit.

The exterior design, contemporary and innovative, creating an appealingly sporty silhouette. Aesthetics and function go hand in hand and care and attention have been lavished on every detail. The entire outdoor area is clad in teak, with four distinct spaces defined according to how they are used. In the stern there is the “Transformer”, a modular platform incorporated seamlessly into the beach area, which can be used to embark/disembark from/onto the dock, or alternatively as a sea ladder or diving platform, and even to help launch and haul up tenders and jet skis. The beach lounge has a huge walk around sun deck island in the center, which is all on the same level for comfort and safety and represents a unique feature in this category. The spacious sun deck has room under it for a tender, with two lockers provided for liferafts, water toys or Seabobs. This is also the area where the revolutionary signature feature of Evo Yachts can be found: at the touch of a digital switch, the “XTension” side walls open in a matter of seconds, increasing the space available by 40% and converting the beach lounge into a huge, exclusive private beach. While this appealing innovation is a feature of all Evo Yachts models, it is absolutely unique on the R6, because on a boat almost 18 meters long, the maximum beam with the side walls extended is close to that of a catamaran.

When designing this yacht, there was a special focus on the concepts of conviviality and versatility. Every area of the deck is designed to encourage interaction among guests and ensure that all aspects of the boat can be enjoyed, like the central section containing a spacious L-shaped sofa, a big chaise longue and a retractable LCD television. The backrests can be moved horizontally so that all guests, both forward and aft, can join in the conversation, including the driver. The open galley on deck features a table seating eight, while rotating one of the backrests creates a big C-shaped sofa around the table, which can be opened and increased in size if needed. The double-seat helm station is lightweight, almost suspended, with mirror-finish stainless steel detailing. The forward area offers a huge walk around sun deck and two facing sofas.

While the deck of the new R6 invites the owner and guests to spend as much time as possible in the open air, the real surprise comes when you explore the interiors, which are entered down a backlit steel staircase with suspended plexiglass surfaces. Featuring noble materials like teak, crystal glass, leather and fine fabrics, the settings can be customised and offer a dinette, a kitchen, a VIP cabin in the bow and an owner’s cabin in the stern. Alternatively, a three-cabin, two-bathroom layout is also available. Like every true yacht, R6 provides fully independent accommodation for a crew of one.

The choice of the Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system not only reduces the size of the engine room, but also gives the owner the maximum in terms of performance, reliability, sound-proofing, simplicity of use, reduced consumption and navigation safety.

The two Volvo Penta IPS units offer a choice between 625 hp (IPS 800) and 725 hp (IPS 950) and, at maximum power, drive the motor yacht to a remarkable top speed of 36 knots and a cruising speed of about 28 knots.

Evo Yachts will be attending the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival
from September 10th to 15th.
