In an exhilarating display of skill, strategy, and teamwork, Dubai Police SWAT teams clinched the top two spots in the highly competitive UAE SWAT Challenge 2024.

This prestigious event, held annually in Dubai, attracts elite SWAT teams worldwide, all vying for the coveted title in gruelling tests designed to push their limits.

The Dubai Police’s unparalleled performance throughout the five-day event reflected their rigorous training, dedication, and commitment to excellence.

Day 5 – (the Obstacle Challenge) Winners

First Place: RNP SWAT Team 1- Rwanda 

   – Score: 52 points   – Time: 03:54.08

Second Place: Department of Special Force KALKAN – Kyrgyzstan

   – Score: 51- Time: 03:59.08

Third Place: Uzbekistan Police – Uzbekistan

   – Score: 50 – Time: 04:04.03

Top Three Overall Winners of the UAE SWAT Challenge 2024

1. First Place – With a remarkable score of 325 points, Team B displayed exceptional prowess across all categories, including hostage rescue, tactical shooting, and obstacle navigation, earning them the championship title.

2. Second Place- Close on their heels, Dubai Police Team A amassed 303 points, demonstrating extraordinary teamwork and strategic thinking, securing a well-deserved second place.

3. Third place –Team SARDAR from Kazakhstan came in third, scoring 302 points, showcasing impressive skills and determination, and proving themselves to be formidable competitors in the international arena.

Russia’s AKHMAT Secures Tower Event Victory on Day 4 of UAE SWAT Challenge

The fourth day of the UAE SWAT Challenge 2024 culminated in an electrifying showdown at The Tower Event, witnessing unparalleled displays of agility, strength, and tactical skill. Competitors from 41 countries scaled new heights, both literally and metaphorically, in a race against time and gravity that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.

Top Three Titans Triumph

Emerging victorious, the top three teams demonstrated extraordinary skill and determination. Their exceptional performances set new records and raised the bar for future competitors.

First Place: Russia’s AKHMAT – Score: 72 points, Time: 02:45.89

Second Place: Department of Special Force KALKAN of Kyrgyzstan– Score: 71 points, Time: 02:51.14

Third Place: SARDAR of Kazakhstan – Score: 70 points, Time: 02:57.81

The UAE SWAT Challenge: Every Fraction of a Second Counts in the Thrilling Battle of Tactical Titans

World’s tactical teams and special police units competing in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2024 have confirmed that the competition in its fifth edition has reached an unprecedented level of intensity. 

Teams from various nations are fiercely vying to outdo each other, with victory or defeat often decided in mere seconds. Dubai Police secured the top spot in the “Assault” competition by a razor-thin margin of just one second ahead of the Kyrgyzstan team. 

Dubai Police completed the challenge in a lightning-fast 1 minute and 49 seconds, while the Kyrgyzstan team finished in 1 minute and 50 seconds. In third place was the Russian team AKHMAT, crossing the finish line in 1 minute and 51 seconds, underscoring the intense rivalry among the teams.

The Significance of Every Second:

Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, remarked, “This year’s challenge witnesses an intense battle among all the teams. We notice that the time difference between the teams is now measured in fractions of a second, not minutes as it used to be. The past two days have seen fierce competition among the participating teams, with high levels of physical and mental preparedness on display, fuelled by the desire to claim the top spot.”

He praised the teams for their unified teamwork over the past two days and highlighted their physical and mental readiness for the challenges, which have been honed through previous experiences.

Narrow Time Margins:

Erika Acuña, a member of the Chilean women’s team BRT, emphasized that all teams are highly prepared for the UAE SWAT Challenge, and the time differences in the results are incredibly tight between the teams. She noted that the intensity of competition reaches its peak in the final meters of each challenge, ultimately determining each team’s ranking and outcome.

Unpredictable Outcomes:

Victor Mekljak, a member of the Brazilian team COT, observed that this year’s competition has reached an exceptionally high level compared to previous years. With teams displaying remarkable competitiveness and readiness, it is impossible to predict who will clinch the top positions. He highlighted that the third day of the challenge witnessed the fiercest competition, with time differentials being incredibly close among the teams. Despite limited training time due to work commitments, the Brazilian team is thrilled to participate in the challenge.

A Remarkable Success:

Carlos Valdez, Assistant Chief of the New York Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit, noted that the level of competition at the UAE SWAT Challenge reflects the unparalleled success of the fifth edition. He emphasized that earning points requires each team to be in peak physical and mental condition to secure time and points. He also expressed the team’s intention to participate in the next edition of the challenge and extended his gratitude to Dubai Police for bringing together specialized police units from around the world to Dubai.

Dubai Police ESports Tournament ‘SWAT Challenge’ Edition Kicks off with 40 Players

Dubai Police’s special edition of their famous Esports Tournament has kicked off in conjunction with the UAE SWAT Challenge, which is held in Al Ruwayyah Training Facility between 3rd and 7th February.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, accompanied by His Excellency Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs, visited the Tournament’s venue, where game enthusiasts gathered to watch four teams playing Counter-Strike 2 for a chance to win thousands of dirhams in cash. 

Major Abdullah Al Shehi, Deputy Director of Cyber Investigation at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, highlighted that the Esports Tournament, which appeal to diverse societal segments, especially the youth, is a significant opportunity for raising awareness on critical issues. These include caution when dealing with strangers in chat rooms, awareness about electronic financial transactions, and avoiding sharing personal and banking information to prevent extortion or electronic fraud. The initiative aligns with Dubai Police’s strategic direction of enhancing security and safety.

Lieutenant Saeed Adel Al Suwaidi, General Coordinator of the Esports Tournament, mentioned that 40 players, divided into eight teams, including six men’s and two women’s, will compete. 

The first day featured four teams playing Counter-Strike 2, and the remaining four teams competed in Valorant on the second day.  The first-place winner in each tournament received AED 15,000, and the runner-up received AED 10,000, with a total prize value of AED 50,000.
